Weak Day: August 27, 2012
Nifty August Futures closed at 5362.40 down by 40.30 points.
Bank Nifty closed at 10177.45 down by 189.50 points. Open Interest in Nifty
across all the series was up by 8 lakh shares at 3.02 Cr shares indicating
fresh shorts being created in the market. Turnover was lower at Rs 1.19
trillion. Put Call Ratio also saw a fall and was pegged at 1.05 indicating Puts
being squared off and Call being written by Option writers. Volatility as
measured by India VIX was up by 2% at 16.47 and Dollar Rupee pair was trading
higher at 55.64. Statistics doesn’t augur well for markets as Open Interest on
a down day has increased and Put Call Ratio has fallen indicating shaken
sentiment among traders.
As said in previous day’s post that probably we are heading
for 5300 first and once we sustain that level and don’t fall below 5230, target
price of 5500 and subsequently 5630 are achievable. I stick to my opinion and
advice traders to trade accordingly. For extremely short term traders (day
traders) sell with stop loss above 5380 with price target of 5300. For medium
to long term traders every dip is a buying opportunity till 5300 level is held.
Happy Trading
